That being said, The Speed Reading Secret was a breath of fresh air. This one hour audio program delivered just what it promised-it multiplied my reading speed and comprehension in under an hour and the effects of the program have continued to grow.

As a reviewer of personal development products for true wealth, success and self-fulfillment, I have to put in a substantial portion of my time into reading product manuals and E-books and if I had to do this at normal reading speeds (most people average under 250 wpm) I would never get done. In fact, in this information age, everyone really needs to be able to read faster and with greater comprehension just to keep up with all of the changes that we have to meet.

My interest in getting a copy of Bristol’s book was reignited as I was going through Alan Tutt’s Choose to Believe program (CTB) after he once again made the online version available for free. Actually, I own the entire CTB workshop and in fact, it is much of the basis for how I live my life. The basic premise being that your reality is a direct reflection of your beliefs. In one of the early modules, Tutt mentioned that the Bristol book had been part of his early research into the Power of Belief.

One thing that really interested me was that Bristol was an old-time newsman who relied on facts and research unlike so many journalists of today. Actually, he would have called himself a reporter and been insulted if you referred to him as a journalist.  Knowing how the old hard-nosed reporters worked, I decided that I had to have this book and it is an excellent read. I am a former news photographer and reporter myself.

Throughout his life, Bristol had witnessed what we might call the miraculous-faith healing, success beyond belief and people building vast fortunes during the worst depression in history.  Bristol was determined to find the common thread and went about collecting proof from all over the world that the primary factor was in “The Magic of Believing.”  His premise was that belief (faith) went far beyond our mind and somehow in what he called “This Science”, it transcended the bounds of space and time and created the reality in which we live.

In the Barnes & Noble review, they state that this text will teach us:

• How you become what you contemplate

• Why hard work alone will not bring success

• How to turn your thoughts into achievements

• How belief makes things happen

I found it to be an absolutely enchanting and informative read and that it very basically gives powerful support to Alan Tutt’s CTB Workshop. I highly recommend this little book to all of my readers and yes, I am an affiliate of both Thompson and of Barnes and Noble.

It has been quite a while since there has been a new program for true wealth, success and self-fulfillment that I could get excited about but, Best Affirmations is just such a program. You know, of course, that I am a long-time believer in the power of affirmations to change your life, I even have a website (http://wealthbyaffirmation.com) dedicated to the proper and effective use of affirmations for personal development. The fact is I have used affirmations effectively since my childhood and am a strong proponent for their use.

Best Affirmations is the collaborative work of Dr. Patricia Ross and Scott Armstrong, one of top success coaches in America. Not only do they tell their own stories of how they have created their success through the use of affirmations, they also tell the success stories of their clients who have used their affirmation strategies. In doing so, you come to believe in the incredible power of affirmations when they are properly composed and consistently applied. The unfortunate fact is that many people do fail in their use of affirmations because of their belief that something so simple could be so effective. Because of their simplicity, many people take the attitude that they will try them and see if they work. This is a recipe for affirmation failure.  In order for affirmations to be effective, one must first believe in their effectiveness and then dedicate all of their resources to using them in a consistent program of affirmations.

The Bottom Line-This is the most effective and well researched affirmation program that I have seen in recent years.  While there are other gurus who teach affirmations, none of them go into the depth that Best Affirmations does and are not nearly as effective at making positive changes in your life.

The only weakness that I found in this program was in the area of recording your own affirmations. Of course, scientific testing has proven the subconscious mind is most sensitive to your own voice, making this far more effective than any pre-recorded affirmation audio with a generic voice.  However, you could make your own recorded affirmations even more effective by using some of the super-learning techniques as taught by Georgi Lozanov, famed Bulgarian accelerated learning researcher.  His suggestopedia theory proved that learning can be enhanced by listening to the music of Mozart while the affirmations are repeated 3 times with emotional emphasis at 6 to 8 second intervals. Lozanov found that the music of Mozart with it’s 60 beat tempo put the mind in a natural Alpha state and synchronized both the left and right hemispheres of the brain-effective creating a natural super-learning state.  At the peak of his research, he was able to teach fluency in a foreign language with a vocabulary of 5 to 6 thousand words within a single day. In my own audios, I have substituted the use of Alan Tutt’s Brain Wave Entrainment audios as I find them even more effective than Mozart. However, even if you do not make this change, you will still find that after a month of using the Best Affirmations Workbook, I have faith that you will see positive changes taking place in your life.
